I was happily married for forty-nine years to my first wife, but cancer, then death, took her from me. I wasn’t sure that I would ever desire to marry again. I had been a United Methodist Pastor for many years when my wife died. After being widowed, I retired. During that time, I came to know much about her. I fell in love.
In February of 2012, I visited her in the Philippines. I also was privileged to preach in some churches while there. She exceeded all my expectations. I proposed marriage. She accepted. I received blessings from Maria’s mother. When I returned to the USA after three weeks in the Philippines, I began the process of acquiring a K-1 Fiancé Visa for Maria.
